Registration

Tabtastic provides two options for registration, AutoReg, an integrated registration solution, or manual registration using an existing populated tab. Tabtastic also provides commands for managing registrations, allowing you to manually unlink or link a participant. In addition, you can also unlink and edit participants using the Participant Manager.

Manual Registration

If you aren’t using AutoReg, you’ll need your participants to register themselves manually when they join the server using the /link command. There are two possible ways to use the /link command. Either as /link <email>, where the email is the user’s corresponding email on the tab, or as /link <code>, where the code is a random string generated by the tab. For Tabbycat users, the code is the same as the random string at the end of the private URLs (e.g. in example.herokuapp.com/example/privateurls/q3r2avj4, q3r2avj4 is the code). The methods can be used interchangeably, and don’t require any specific setup to use one or the other, you just need to make sure every participant has either an email or a code, and then run the /update command. Participants can run /link in any channel, as long as it is inside of your Discord server, and the link messages will be automatically deleted. If Tabtastic recognises a participant from a past tournament, it may prompt them to confirm their details and link them automatically.

Managing Registration

Tabtastic provides two useful commands for managing a user’s registration, /unlink and /setlink. /unlink will deregister a participant, and can be used by either mentioning the user (e.g. /unlink @Snoopy) or by using the linked email (e.g. /unlink [email protected]). /setlink will link a user to a specific participant, and can be used by mentioning the user and supplying the email to link to (e.g. /setlink @Snoopy [email protected]).
